Chapter 24- *The Next Day* Stephanie called Joe to see if he wanted to hang out. Of course, Joe said yes: thinking about all the alone time they would have. Fifteen minutes later Joe was at Stephanie's house to pick her up. She smiled when she saw that he was wearing the shirt she got him for Christmas. It said "Yes, I am dangerous." Joe took Stephanie's hand when she walked out of the house and walked her to his car. Then, he opened the door, like usual, and then shut it when she was seated. After Joe got into the car and started the engine, he looked at Stephanie and smiled. Stephanie noticed his smile from the corner of her eye, so she turned to look at him. "Can I help you?" "I was just going to say you look very pretty today, is that a crime?" Stephanie smiled to hide the fact that her heart was beating faster than it had in a long time. Joe took one of Stephanie's hands in his and kissed it. Stephanie could not keep from smiling. This is what she wanted: to have Joe back and now that he forgave her, she was on cloud nine. Joe pulled into a Starbucks parking lot and got out so he could open Stephanie's door. Once inside the shop, Stephanie told Joe what she wanted and then found a table in the back. She laughed when she saw fans, once again, ask him for autographs. When Stephanie looked towards the counter, she did a double take. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. The girl standing behind the counter talking to the manager had familiar red hair that Stephanie knew to belong to only one person. Sure enough, when the girl turned around, Stephanie saw Andie looking like she never even left. She wanted to get up and say hi, but then she realized the guy standing behind her was someone she didn't want to see at all: Aaron. Oh, great, she thought. I can't get away from this kid. A couple minutes later Joe was sitting across from her. "Joe did you see who is here?" Joe looked to where Stephanie was hinting towards and was shocked to see Andie standing behind the counter. "Oh my God, I thought she moved! Kevin is going to be so happy that she's back." Just then, Stephanie felt someone behind her and knew that she didn't want to turn around to see who it was. "Um...here are your coffees Stephanie and Joe." Joe looked up and saw Aaron standing there, and then looked at Stephanie with a confused expression. "Thanks Aaron, you can go away now." "Oh, come on, you're not still mad about what happened the other day are you?" "Yes I am, now you need to leave before you really see me angry." Aaron started to say something and then looked at the expression on Joe's face: which he basically read as "Leave now." "Ok, well, I'll talk to you at school." "Yah, keep dreaming buddy." Stephanie looked back at Joe who was looking at her with an expression she read as "Who the hell was that?" "Ok, so the other day, that kid came into one of my classes and then it turned out he was in a lot of my classes. He was flirting with me and then when I went to my car, he tried to kiss me. So, now I want nothing to do with him." Joe smiled. He was satisfied that nothing serious had happened between the two of them, so he now knew that Stephanie could be trusted again. "OH MY GOD!!" Stephanie and Joe both looked up to see Andie standing by their table. They both jumped up and hugged her which caused everyone in the shop to stare. "Andie what are you doing here? I thought you were in North Carolina?" "I just moved in with my aunt yesterday, so I'm here for awhile." Andie sat and talked with Joe and Stephanie until she realized she was probably interrupting their alone time. "Well, I'll see you guys around. I have some shopping to do." Joe and Stephanie said their goodbyes and watched Andie walk out of the Starbucks. [Song: Chemicals React Artist: Aly & AJ]
