Gina Marie was invited down to watch the 12's boy's & girl's one day invitational zonal clinic @ the Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow, the site of the US Open. She was so hyped watching all of them playing and she wanted to hit so bad. After it was over, Kelvin told Gina to get on the court and hit a few. A 12 year old boy came over and said to Kelvin "How Old Is SHe"? He said 5 and the boy said "She's Really Good". Gina Marie immediately went over to the boy to thank him. Gina also had the pleasure of finally meeting Julie Bliss of the Eastern USTA after speaking to her on several occasions.
Gina Marie can hit better if she can get to the ball and not reach for it. Step in, crossover step sideways, run back for the over head....constantly working on fine tuning her moves.
Gina did so well today, I saw how happy it made her. She is adapting fine with the new club and coaches. It makes her feel good to see that she can be in the same group as 10 and 11 yr olds and do better. This really gives her time to shine.
Today 3/7/08 Gina Marie has a private lesson with the world class Arcadi. This clip shows how he tries to motivate her footwork to make her move faster by sending her from alley to alley. The hits weren't great but she was moving her feet...finally!

Gina's second 1 hour lesson today with the 6-8 year olds. Gina hits the best out of 10 balls with coach Phil .
