Gary Hairfield going down the track at Carlsbad was a very common sight back in the day.... I think he probably took more passes down that track than anybody else alive in his 455 powered TransAm.... the combination was deadly ! He won multiple DOT tire bracket championships with it !! Not sure, but I think he was racing his good friend DJ in this race.....
Two old racing friends making a pass. Multiple-time DOT tire points champion Gary Hairfield in his 455 powered TransAm and Charles in his beautiful nitrous assisted 383 sbc C4 Corvette.
1999 at the long gone Carlsbad Raceway. Eight DeTomaso Panteras drag it out. From the Mustang got the jump but the Pantera beat him anyhow to "What is Dan's excuse this time?".
From 38 seconds to 54seconds, that's my Trans Am. This is a weekend of fun with our Southern California F-Bodies club at Carlsbad Raceway. Carlsbad Raceway is now a subdevelopment that I drive by *tear*
