This is me, Casathious Jones, singing the song "San Francisco" with my player piano. Written by Gus Kahn, Bronislau Kaper and Walter Jurmann, this song was originally performed in the 1936 motion picture "San Francisco" by the wonderful Jeanette MacDonald, and later covered by the also-wonderful Judy Garland. It is also one of the official songs of the City of San Francisco. (Please forgive the varying quality as this is my first 'official' attempt at a Youtube video).
JH plays the player piano at Scott Joplin's house in Saint Louis.
Silly comparison of the costume worn by (1) Jeanette MacDonald in "San Francisco" (1936) and (2) modified slightly for June MacCloy in "Go West" (1940). Original costume designed by Adrian.
Fans at Candlestick Park sing "San Francisco" during an emotional pre-game ceremony in the aftermath of the 1989 earthquake tragedy. The song was originally popularized by Jeanette MacDonald in the 1936 movie "San Francisco", which showed the events of the 1906 earthquake and fire.
One of Nelson Eddy's marching songs. There are a few. This one is from "Naughty Marietta." It's a great scene and a great song.
