Nick: Come on, you must've told someone else. Kevin: I might've told Sarah. Joe: CALL HER!! Kevin: Okay, okay!! (picks up the phone quickly and dials her number) Sarah: Hey Kevin! How are you? Kevin: Sarah, was it you? Sarah: Was what me? Kevin: The song, Sarah, THE SONG!! Sarah: What SONG??? Kevin: Okay, I'll calm down. But, was it you? That song, "Goodbye". Sarah: No. Kevin: Okay, now I'm really confused. Sarah: It was Maria. Kevin: I mean, I don't understand how anyone would have this e-ma--(realizes she said that it was Maria) So it IS you guys?! Sarah: Mainly Maria, but I played the drums, wasn't I great? Kevin: Yes, Amazing! Listen, I have to talk to my brothers, thanks for your help! Sarah: You're welcome! Bye. Kevin: Bye. (hangs up) Joe: Soooooo? Kevin: It was them. Joe: I KNEW IT! Nick: Oh you know nothing! Kevin: Nick! Nick: Sorry. Joe: Okay, I am so calling Maria. (dials her number) Maria! Maria: Uh, hey Joe? (confused) Joe: You're an amazing singer. Maria; Thanks, that really means a l--(realizes he knows) Who told you?! Joe: Sarah told Kevin. Maria: Ugh. Well....sorry I used your words. Joe: No, it's fine. I love the song, like, a lot. Maria: You did? Joe: Made me practically cry. Maria: I cried, Dana cried and so did Sarah when they heard me. Joe: Why didn't you tell me you could sing and play guitar? Maria: I don't know, I just guess it's not something I advertise. Joe: Yes, but to your boyfriend? Maria: Look, I'm sorry. Joe: There's no need to be sorry. You don't have to keep things from me. Maria: (smiling even though he can't see) Thanks Joe. And, Good Luck tonight. Joe: Thanks. Maria: Bye. Joe: Bye. Maria hung up and looked at the picture of her and Joe she took on the 4th of July. She remembered it was right after he asked her to be his girlfriend and they kissed. The picture was in a frame and was next to her bed. Sarah and Dana went back to their houses. Dana had some packing to do for the move to Sarah's and Sarah had some major cleaning to do since her house was such a mess from the sleepovers. Dana slowly packed her things into boxes. Right on the top of all of the pictures she placed the most important pictures. One of her with Maria and Sarah when they were six. It was at Sarah's birthday party, they each had their hair in pigtails and where huddled together each flashing a huge smile with some teeth missing. She remembered the moment the picture was taken. Maria's mom had to clam them down and clean off their faces 'cause cake icing was all over their faces. They teeth were a little blue and so were their faces 'cause Maria's mom didn't clean the icing off very well. The other one was of the girls recently. It was right when they bought the tickets for JB. They were so happy jumping up and down uncontrollably. She remembered that moment so clearly. She remembered that she and Maria were yelling at Sarah to click CONFIRM. And when she did they were screaming when Dana's brother, Nick, snapped the picture. He happened to be over, off from school. The next picture was of her and Nick. They where smiling at the beach. Maria had taken it. A smaller picture was in the bottom right corner, and in that picture, Dana was smiling and Nick kissed her cheek right when the flash went off. Dana smiled at that one and then she taped the box shut. So many memories, so many photographs. Her phone rang. Dana: Hello? Nick: Hi. Dana: Nick, hey. Nick: We're going to be here for another week, then we restart the tour in California... Dana: I know that. Nick: Would you like to come to that concert? Dana: Of course. Nick: How about front row seats? Dana: Nick, you're amazing. Nick: Thanks. --------------------------------------- Chapter 20 eventually. lol
