This is from George Friedrich Handel's oratorio 'Messiah' For those of you who may wonder, I have served as an organist at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, Honolulu, Hawaii for the past 17 years. This was done all as a volunteer. I played the organ for the 0900, 1030, and 1800 masses, accompanied both cathedral's main and Samoan choirs, and gave free organ recitals from time to time. I also accompanied the Hawaii Pacific University's International Vocal Ensemble when the performed at the cathedral and required organ accompaniment. I also did on the spot minor repairs to the organ - even crawling up into the chamber to remove a ciphering pipe during mass!! I have been called by the church office on very short notice to play the organ for weddings and funerals and needed to suddenly negotiate taking time off from my regular job to make this happen. For me playing the organ is not considered as a 'job', it is rather considered a deeply passionate ministry in the Roman Catholic Church.
