“Oh my gosh! Remember when we were waiting for Hannah to arrive at your birthday party Danielle and we all laid down in the middle of the road!” Tess remembered. “YOU WHAT?” Nick said. “We laid down in the middle of the road because no cars ever come by.” Danielle explained. “Ohh…”Nick said and put his shirts away in his drawer. “So then when Hannah finally came we hid in the back of Tess’s car. For some reason there were balloons back there and when Hannah got out of the car we jumped out and threw balloons at her” Danielle said. “It was so funny! Hannah you were so scared!” Hannah threw her shirt at Danielle. “Was not!” “If only I could have seen all of this!” Joe said. They all laughed and finished putting away their clothing. It was about 12 o’clock so all seven of them walked outside. Kevin, Joe, and Nick had all been there before and showed the girls where the meeting for all the campers was. The camp announcer quieted everyone down and started her speech. “Now if you have been here before, welcome back! And if this is your first time, welcome! Now I am going to discuss some of the activities we have here at Camp R&R. Each week we will have a talent show. You may form your own groups of singers or whatever you are going to do. Each Saturday we will gather at the stage and each group will perform. Our judges will judge you on different categories. Such as movement, singing, or playing an instrument. It is freestyle. Any kinds of dances or music. Please try to keep the outfits, lyrics, and dances appropriate people! Okay we do have a few rules here. Lights out by 11 o’clock. No swimming after 8 o’clock pm. Breakfast is at 9 o’clock each morning. Lunch is at noon, and dinner is at 6. Be on time. If you are late with out a good excuse then you will not be able to participate in that weeks activities. But have fun! You can have the rest of the day to your selves. Get to know one another and possibly make some groups? See you all at dinner!” “That was long.” Joe said. “And boring” Kevin added. “It wasn’t this strict last year.” “Yea but now we have a later curfew and we get a lot more freedom. Last year we never got a free day!” Nick told him. “Have you guys won the talent show before?” Tess asked. “No. We have gotten far but haven’t won it. The prize if you win the talent show is a contract with Hollywood Records.” Kevin explained. The boys gave them all a tour of the camp and then it was time for dinner. They sat together and ate until they felt like they would explode. When everyone was done the seven friends walked to their cabin and got ready for bed. Hannah, Tess, Mandy and Danielle sat on Mandy and Danielle’s bed talking about the talent show and back in New York. The girls decided that Mandy would sing, Danielle would sing back up and play lead guitar with Tess, and Hannah would play piano and drums. Tess could also fill in for drums or piano. Danielle would work on costumes, Tess and Hannah would work on dance moves, and Mandy would work on lyrics. There was a curtain in the cabin that divided the room in half. Kevin, Joe and Nick were silently listening to their conversation on the other side of the curtain. Since they had been there before they knew that Kevin would play guitar with Nick, and Nick and Joe would sing. “Oh my god!!!” Mandy screamed.
