On this day 120 funerals took place, something western media forgot to report on... ====================================== The Beslan massacre of Christians began when a group of armed Muslims, demanding an end to the Second Chechen War, took more than 1,100 schoolchildren and adults hostage on September 1, 2004, at School Number One (SNO) in the town of Beslan, North Ossetia-Alania, an autonomous republic in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation. On the third day of the standoff, Russian security forces stormed the building using tanks, thermobaric rockets and other heavy weapons. A series of explosions shook the school, followed by a fire which engulfed the building and a chaotic gunbattle between the hostage-takers and Russian security forces. Ultimately, at least 334 hostages were killed, including 186 children.Hundreds more were wounded or missing. On the first day the Muslims took away any parents that looked capable of putting up a struggle, they took them to the corridor and executed them. ====================================== The children were hungry and thirsty. But were not allowed to drink water, they were told by the followers of the Koran (muslims) that they should drink their own urine. ======================================= Children were executed on whim women killed for nothing..men the same, if someone asked to go to the toilet they were escorted out towards the toilet and executed. ==================================== No Mercy was shown to anyone. ==================================== Arsen was only 14 years old when he was taken hostage. His friends remember him as a sincere, kind and helpful friend. Arsen was heavily involved in wrestling and other sports. He was the hope for his family since his brother, Ruslan, was paralyzed from birth. ===================================== As Arsen's friends say, he was less concerned about himself than about the younger kids in the gymnasium, saying: "I am already 14. I have lived my life, we really need to help the 7 and 8 year-old children". When Arsen was allowed to go to the washroom, he managed to wet his shirt with tap water which he smuggled back to the gymnasium. Once he returned back to the gym, he squeezed droplets into the hands and mouths of the little kids. After the first explosion, Arsen was alive and was on his way out through the window. The first picture, "Betrozovs and their father". It is a horrifying depiction of the tragedy of Zarina's uncle's family, one of the many Beslan families destroyed by this tragedy. The second pictures represent a "Bombs wireing plan". On September 1, 8th-grader Aslan, 9th-grader Alan, and their father, Ruslan, went together to the 1st day of school ceremony. Upon their arrival, the hostage taking began. At first, Alan managed to escape, but then returned to the school as he became aware that his father and brother were inside and was worried that they may need his help. =================================== Hostage reports indicate that a terrorist approached the area where the three of them were sitting back to back, and, without hesitation, shot the father at point blanc range in the neck. Soon after, Ruslan's body was thrown out of the window. Aslan and Alan witnessed their father's brutal murder, suffered through the hours without food or water, and then died in the attack. Aslan was initially considered lost, but recently his body was identified.
